"...During this period, she also lived in Barcelona where she dedicated her time to a Master's in Philosophy, Aesthetics and Theory of Contemporary Art at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. This experience was to become a crucial milestone in her creative development. Formely, solitude was a recurrent theme explored with a remarkably positive attitude, but now her work emerges as a manifesto that is simultaneously intimate and political.Her exhibition '(a minute to) stop measuring' which opened last April at Sala Maior Gallery (oporto), offered us a reflection on the jugments we make about others and our pre-conceived notions associated with beauty and love, constituting an intensely feminine discourse illustrated by photography, lacework and old wooden boxes dusted with subtle ironies and sweet memories. In the face of her grandmother, presented to us as a Caryatid, we can decipher the public and private dimensions of her work which simultaneously pays tribute to the women of her life and offers a universal ode to all women which inspire us to challenge the limits of what is considered possible through their astonishing inner strength. This private Universe, which unsettles us like a reflection on our very own existence, has already gained recognition through a variety of prizes awarded at different events, including the ANJE Acquisition Award, the 1st Prize on the Bienniel of Erotic Art and through a Honourable Mention in the Júlio Resende Award.Alongside her artistic production and academic activities - presently teaching Drawing at the Catholic University of Oporto - the artist is also involved in the Re-Mixed project, developing items of clothing and necklaces that are available online or in the 'Tipografia' collective which takes place during weekend inaugurations in the Oporto art gallery district.Her new series of work announces an appropriation of the idea of time, now immersed in a web of reinterpreted fairy tales steering us towards other questions and other affections." - in ATTITUDE pág. 45 ........................................................................................................................
